Triple chocolate brownies, chocolate dipped sugar cookies, Oreos, fortune cookies and rice krispie treats – a heavenly combination of sinful desserts!  Dressed up with Valentine sprinkles and sugar decorations, the treats in this deluxe basket are a guaranteed winner!  Last year I sent this basket to my parents for them to share at a Valentine’s Day dinner.  This year, the host of the dinner has asked my mom to bring the “wonderful dessert basket” again.

Gourmet Cookie Bouquets offers this decadent dessert basket for $66 plus $11.95 shipping.

My dream job would be as a taste tester for the Dessert of the Month Club.  According to their website, hundreds of desserts are sampled each month and only the finest selections are shipped to their club members.  Since I can’t see that job being available anytime soon, I would be willing to settle for a subscription to the Dessert of the Month Club.  Although it wouldn’t fit in very well with my weight loss plan, some of the desserts shown on this website are positively sinful!

If you are interested in sending this as a gift, you can choose a 3 month, 6 month or 12 month plan, or you can choose to have one dessert sent every season (4 times per year).  The recipient will receive a gourmet dessert, a dessert lover’s newsletter with each shipment, free shipping and a free personalized gift announcement.  If you choose the 12 month plan, the price works out to be only $29.95 per month.

What better way to celebrate the new year than with a decadent dessert!  This 3 lb New York style cheesecake is covered in chocolate ganache and candy sprinkles, then finished with “Happy New Year” written in delicious white chocolate.  The 8″ size will serve 12 people, so it would be perfect for my family of 4 (with some leftovers just for me!).  With such rich and creamy filling, I may be tempted to put off my healthy eating plan for a few days.  Holiday Gifts & Gift Baskets will overnight this cheesecake right to your door for $77.95.  If you prefer, send this scrumptious dessert to a faraway friend and help them ring in the New Year with cheesecake!

My extended family celebrates Christmas at a resort every year.  Grandma and Grandpa had 16 children, so our close relatives number over 100 – which is difficult to fit into any single family home!  There is no shortage of food at these celebrations, and certain family members are asked to bring their “signature dish” each year.  My aunt Lesley makes homemade crescent rolls, aunt Renee brings along her special recipe “Good N Rich” potatoes, and uncle John supplies the ham.  The dessert table is also plentiful, and each year my mom brings a different flavor of cheesecake to add to the array.

Last year mom didn’t have as much time to bake as she would have liked, so I turned her on to another of my favorite food websites – Holiday Gifts & Gift Baskets.  She ordered two of these Cranberry Chocolate Chip Cheesecakes, and was surprised at how quickly they disappeared!  Many relatives asked for her recipe, and she admitted that the delicious dessert was actually made by someone else and shipped to her.  If it wasn’t for the spendy overnight shipping cost ($34.95) she would have broke with tradition and brought the same flavor two years in a row.  The cost of the 3 lb cheesecake (which provides 12 generous servings) is $39.

When my girlfriend was married 11 years ago, her aunt made authentic German kuchen for each reception table.  A traditional German dessert, kuchen is a big part of my friend’s heritage and she wanted to introduce guests at her wedding to the delicious pastry.  Kuchen is made in a pie pan, but that is where the similarity to pie ends.  The outside is more like a cake than a crust, and the filling is a sweet and creamy custard.  Kuchen can be made with plain custard, or it can be flavored with virtually endless combinations of fruit and/or spices.

During my online kuchen search (since I haven’t been able to reproduce the recipe I was given with much success), I discovered that kuchen can also be found in nearly every grocery store in Chile.  It seems that when German settlers introduced the dessert to their new Chilean neighbors, they fell in love with the dish and have now made it a staple in their country.

For a sweet German kuchen experience, try the gourmet desserts offered by Lapp’s Kuchen.  Located in Hebron, North Dakota, the Lapp’s have been perfecting their recipe for years – much to the delight of German-Americans nationwide.  Try a case of 6 – available in more than 30 flavors – for $25 plus shipping.

Made from scratch, flash frozen and shipped to your door, Heritage Pies feature a homemade apple pie that appears to have magical qualities – it disappeared less than 24 hours after I received it!

Each mouthwatering apple pie is hand made – using 12-14 apples sliced inside a rich, buttery crust.  Weighing more than 5 lbs, this pie pairs perfectly with vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce, a steaming cup of coffee or an ice cold glass of milk!  Heritage Pies will ship this gourmet treat to you for $34.95 (plus shipping).  If your house is like mine, the delicious aroma will probably last longer than the pie itself!

Every time I drive to town, I go past 2 pumpkin stands filled with this year’s harvest.  The pumpkins immediately get me thinking of pumpkin pie, pumpkin bars and pumpkin spice muffins – yummy!  Another great pumpkin dessert is this delicious Pumpkin Cheesecake from Holiday Gifts & Gift Baskets.  With a gingerbread crust and 4 pounds of rich creamy goodness, order this for your next dinner party and then take credit for making it yourself! This size dessert would easily feed 10-12 guests, with even a bit leftover for your midnight snack.

Holiday Gifts & Gift Baskets offers this cheesecake (plus other fall flavors) for $47 plus overnight shipping to ensure freshness.
